Our Ministries

Philippus Church has been serving the OTR community for over 100 years, and we continue to connect with our neighbors through various community-based ministries.
Off-the-Streets

Philippus Church works in partnership with the Anna Louise Inn to help women leave the life of prostitution.  Philippus Church provides skill building, fellowship and pastoral care through a monthly luncheon.  Sometimes we share stories of recovery while other times we simply laugh and sing karaoke together.

LGBTQ

Philippus Church is an Open and Affirming Congregation. We proudly welcome the LGBTQ community at our church and all of our activities.

Sherwin Anderson Skills Academy

The Sherwin Anderson Basketball Academy’s mission is to offer children and young adults an opportunity to develop their basketball skills, in a structured environment while improving self-confidence and enhancing interpersonal skills. Giving each child a chance to be successful, on and off the court. We are located in the Philippus Church Gymnasium.

Tamar's Place

Located in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine area, Tamar’s Place works in close cooperation with “Off-the-Streets" to bring comfort, services, and help to some of Cincinnati’s most marginalized women. Housed in the Philippus Church, Tamar’s Place offers coffee, snacks, a safe place to rest, and referrals to other agencies that offer more.

Volunteering

Philippus Church believes in turning our faith, prayer, and works into action. We volunteer in our community to improve the lives of our neighbors.
